Vegan Living

What does being "Vegan" mean?

I became a vegan in July of 2004.

Veganism is a philosophy and lifestyle which "seeks to exclude all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals and the environment." (wikipedia)

Why go Vegan?

There are as many reasons for going vegan as there are vegans out there in the world ;-). I chose this lifestyle as an extension of my Buddhist practice, emphasizing the principle of "Do No Harm!" I have great compassion for the animals that are being used as our food and clothing supply. The immense suffering that these beings experience is unfathomable.

Making new choices in what you eat and wear will increase your health and the health of the planet while reducing needless suffering.

It all begins with individual choices. Please make the right ones...

How do I get started?

It is often said that our intelligence is what separates man from beast. In today's world there is very little need for us to use animal sources for food and clothing. Our intelligence grants us the ability to make kinder choices.

A number of audio and video files have been included below, and I implore you to watch them. If you find them troubling, then I beg that you search your conscience and ask how you yourself continue to propagate this form of suffering based on the choices that you make every day.

Notice how they all try to escape - They all fear death... They all feel pain... They all suffer just as we do.
